Units may use the University of Iowa visual identity on merchandise and apparel for promotional purposes. Be sure to follow the UI’s visual identity guidelines and licensing procedures when planning and designing promotional products. Keep designs simple and light on unit-level identification; official UI logos and graphics are more recognizable to our audiences. Consider using URLs or social media handles to drive audiences to engage with online content.
The primary gold for the University of Iowa is the spot color PMS 116 C. As the industry standard, Pantone recommended values should be used for CMYK, HEX, and RGB color spaces to achieve the most desirable gold across print and digital platforms. Do not use PMS 116 U when printing on an uncoated stock, every effort should be made by vendors to match the PMS 116 C swatch. For process four-color printing, use the recommended CMYK values. For web and digital platforms, use the recommended HEX value. For a more dense black when printing with a four-color process, use the recommended rich black formula.

The Primary Palette
The colors on the left are the official colors for the Iowa Hawkeyes. It is very important to match these colors faithfully when reproducing the retail marks. It is greatly preferred that all Iowa Hawkeyes marks be used in both of these colors whenever possible. If this is not possible then the marks should be printed in all Hawkeye Gold where allowed, all black on light backgrounds and all white on dark backgrounds.

The Support Colors
In addition to the primary palette shown above, the Iowa Hawkeyes marks utilize white as an important support color.
